ELABORATOR focuses on the co-creation of sustainable urban mobility solutions that contribute to the climate neutrality goals of a range of cities.

About the project

The overall intention of the ELABORATOR project is to support cities in the design of sustainable urban mobility solutions, with the goal of contributing to climate neutrality. The project utilises a holistic approach for planning, designing, implementing and deploying specific innovations and solutions that focuses on safe, inclusive and sustainable urban mobility. These solutions consist of smart enforcement tools, space redesign and dynamic allocation, shared services, and integration of active and green modes of transportation.

Solutions will be specifically co-designed and co-created with identified groups that have been identified as vulnerable to exclusion, as well as local authorities and relevant stakeholders. The solutions will be demonstrated in a number of cities across Europe, starting with six Lighthouse cities and six Follower cities, with three aims:

  1. To collect, assess and analyse user needs towards a safe and inclusive climate neutral city;
  2. To collect and share rich information sets made of real data, traces from dedicated toolkits, users’ and stakeholders’ opinions among the cities to increase the take up of the innovations via a twinning approach;
  3. To generate detailed guidelines and built capacity for service providers, planning authorities and urban designers for the optimum integration of such inclusive and safe mobility interventions into Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs).
